Programme Lead

Christine Bako is an education professional with several years of experience in teaching, teacher development, and education program implementation. She currently serves as a Program Lead where she supports the implementation of education programmes across the regions of West Nile and Bunyoro, working closely with teachers, school leaders and other stakeholders to strengthen teaching and learning. Her role involves program coordination, stakeholder engagement, monitoring implementation, coaching and support, and contributing to data-driven decision-making.

About Me

Before joining STiR Education, she worked with Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) as an English Instructor. She also has extensive classroom teaching experience, having taught English Language at St. Charles Lwanga International School, Sacred Heart SS, Gulu High School, Gulu Army SS, and Gulu College School. These experiences have given her a strong understanding of classroom practice, teacher needs, learner development, and the realities faced by education in different school settings.

Christine is motivated by a strong passion for education and its power to transform lives and communities. She is particularly inspired by opportunities to support teachers to grow professionally and create learning environments where learners can thrive. Her commitment is driven by the belief that meaningful improvements in education begin with empowered teachers, strong school leadership, and a shared commitment to better outcomes for every learner.
